With the continued redevelopment of the Leicester city retail landscape and the growth of the Universities there has been an increasing demand for more student accommodation. This project saw a former sock factory of re-enforced concrete construction replaced with a new fresh and imposing 8 story residential structure. A design and build project, Farrow Walsh advised on the suitability of the existing structure prior to designing the transfer frame to support an additional storey of accommodation.
The location of the site adjacent to Leicester Train Station and close proximity of existing sewer structures posed considerable logistical problems all of which had to be considered when looking at the new build.
