Following the severe weather in 2012 with car parks being flooded and fields becoming temporary lakes, Farrow Walsh were invited to resolve the surface water drainage constraints to the North and West car parks at Silverstone Race Circuit.
Consideration of the historic land drainage arrangement in addition to modelling of the ordinary watercourse and main river adjacent to the two separate locations allowed an informed approach to resolving the limitations and achieving a solution that has resulted in a free draining area of land year round.
This initial work was followed by an assessment of the surface water drainage to the entire site to assist with future development areas and to ensure the site remains commercially viable.
