Trent Bridge Quays is a mixed residential and commercial riverside development forming a key part of Nottingham’s wider Waterside regeneration. Located on Meadow Lane beside the River Trent, the scheme transforms a former industrial site into a vibrant waterfront community.
Delivered in two phases, the development provides a total of 156 homes. The first phase delivered 98 riverside properties, while the second phase introduced a further 58 residences, including one, two and three-bedroom apartments alongside three- and four-bedroom townhouses. The scheme also incorporates new communal riverside spaces and pedestrian walkways, enhancing connectivity and public realm along the waterfront.
The site is located directly adjacent to the River Trent and sits within a designated flood plain. Its previous use as a former Muller yard also presented ground-related considerations. The proximity to the river, combined with the phased delivery of the project, required careful coordination to manage flood risk, ground conditions and construction sequencing.
Farrow Walsh developed a robust structural solution tailored to the riverside environment. The steel frame design provided speed of construction and structural efficiency, while accommodating the architectural layout across multiple residential blocks.
Particular attention was given to flood resilience and levels coordination, ensuring the development responded appropriately to its flood plain setting. Close collaboration with the wider design and infrastructure teams enabled the successful integration of the buildings with the new access road and surrounding public area.
Through considered design and phased coordination, the project has successfully transformed a former industrial riverside site into a high-quality residential destination.
