The Nottingham War Rooms are entering a new chapter as refurbishment works officially begin on one of the city's most distinctive heritage buildings.
For decades, the Nottingham War Rooms have stood as a powerful reminder of Britain's Cold War history. Now, following the granting of planning permission, this iconic Grade II-listed landmark has entered an exciting new phase as refurbishment works officially begin on site.
Led by developer Langcroft, the ambitious regeneration project will breathe new life into the 44,000 sq ft former bunker, creating a vibrant mixed-use destination that celebrates the building's historic significance while providing valuable new opportunities for the city.
Once complete, the War Rooms will be transformed into a community and enterprise hub featuring flexible workspaces, media studios and food and drink amenities. Set across a three-hectare site, the development has been carefully conceived to preserve the building's remarkable heritage while ensuring it continues to serve Nottingham for generations to come.
Historic buildings such as the War Rooms present a unique opportunity to combine conservation with innovation.
